Lip

A decorative and visible facial piercing, usually done at the corner of the mouth.

Jewelry size: 20, 18, and 16 gauge, 3/8" to 1/2"

Hand Web

The usual location is the flesh between the thumb and index finger. Everyday manual labor makes hand web piercings difficult to heal. Usage restrictions and a rigorous cleaning routine is a must for a successful piercing.

Jewelry size: 14 gauge, 5/8" to 3/4"

Healing time: 6-12 months

After healing: Captive bead, coil, charm, and genuine stone rings 1/2" to 5/8" can also be warn

Navel

An extremely popular piercing that is slow to heal. A redness, which is not a sign of infection, can persist for months. Only suitable for pronounced "innies." The placement is located 3/8" above the upper edge of the navel. The ring should hang vertically and seem to disappear into the navel opening.

Suggested jewelry: Barbell stud or curved barbell

Jewelry size: 14 and 12 gauge, 3/8" to 1/2"

Healing time: 9-12 months

After healing: Captive bead rings, captive coil or charm rings, captive genuine stone rings, teardrop rings, circular, curved, or straight barbells can be worn in gauges ranging from 16 to 10

Nipple

A sensual piercing, it encourages the nipple to become larger and more pronounced. The piercing is located at the base of the nipple where it joins the plane of the breast. Piercing holes should be a minimum of 3/8" apart and should not go into the aureole (the pigmented area around the nipple).  Piercing into the aureole is possible in some cases, usually with males.

Suggested jewelry: Captive bead ring, captive coil or charm ring, captive genuine stone ring, circular barbell

Jewelry size: 14 and 12 gauge, 5/8" to 3/4"

Healing time: 6-8 weeks, sometimes longer

After healing: Most types of rings as well as circular and straight barbells may be worn in gauges from 14 to 8, 5/8" or larger

Cartilage

Ear cartilage piercing is popular due to the endless variety of placement options. Placement can be at the top of the ear, at the bottom of the ear, or any place in between.

Suggested jewelry: Same as earlobes, except the piercing hole must be made a gauge larger than the jewelry to allow for healing

Healing time: 3-6 months

Jewelry size: 20, 18, 16, and 14 gauge, 5/16" to 5/8"

After healing: Captive ball or genuine stone rings and circular barbells in 3/8" to 1/2", and tusks can be worn

The piercing is almost exclusively done on the outer arc of the eyebrow. This is an attractive and highly visible piercing. Removal of the jewelry is not recommended.
